About

The second we never had.

It started with my own games. I play club leagues and weekend opens, and blitz on Lichess and Chess.com in between. I keep my scoresheets, I prepare on the train to the venue, and I'd lost count of my PGN files. Like most club players, I had no trainer to follow my games and no second to prepare my opponents. So I started building one.

Today, Chess Second is built by a team of tournament players and engineers, and it solves one problem: amateurs put hours into chess with nobody to tell them where those hours should go. It keeps your repertoire in one place and updates it with the week's best master games. It picks the two or three things worth working on from your own games, then checks your next games to see if they're fixed. And before you sit down at the board, it tells you what your opponent plays and where they lose.

It doesn't replace the work, and it doesn't replace a trainer. It makes the hours you already spend on chess count. We use it on our own games every week.
